Pauline Kelley Joins Dream Design As CFO

Rapid City’s former Finance Director steps into her new role as Chief Financial Officer of Dream Design today. After spending 23 years in municipal government working for the City of Sturgis and City of Rapid City, Pauline Kelley will have the opportunity to impact communities all around the Black Hills in a new capacity.

“A few years ago, Hani gave me a tour of Dream Design’s projects. It really impressed me to see the way his work is touching lives and I’m looking forward to being a part of the team,” Pauline said.

Pauline served as Deputy Finance Director under Mayor Jim Shaw and then as Finance Director for four mayoral administrations: mayors Alan Hanks, Sam Kooiker, and Steve Allender. In June of this year, she was named Finance Officer of the Year by the South Dakota Governmental Finance Officers’ Association. Pauline says the most important lesson she learned during her career in public service was about relationships.

“Relationships are key. You build relationships and make connections because you can’t know everything,” said Pauline.

As CFO, Pauline will lead Dream Design’s Finance Department and serve on the company’s senior leadership team. Pauline says in this role, as in her past role, she has a personal mission statement as her guiding light:

“Everything I do is based on faith, family, and friends.”
