A Photo Tour of Dream Design’s New Digs

This is where it all started. A sleep-deprived new father of twins left his job as city engineer to start an engineering firm in his home. After taking on his first projects and seeing some early successes, he was soon able to hire his first employee, Renee Catron.

Fast forward 24 years later and the Dream Design team has grown beyond Hani and Renee – though both are still with the company (Hani as President of Dream Design International, Inc. and Renee as a leader of KTM Design Solutions, Inc.). Dream Design now serves as a parent brand to multiple companies which employ a total of around 70 individuals and offer services in not only engineering, but land development, construction, and real estate.

The companies’ growth isn’t expected to slow any time soon, which is why Dream Design and KTM have moved to a brand new location in Rapid City. The companies are now located on the first floor of the Kansas City Lofts building at 18 East Kansas City Street, Suites 2 & 3.

“Our old location holds a lot of fond memories, but we have outgrown the space,” said Hani Shafai. “KC Lofts will be our new homebase where we dream up great possibilities for Rapid City and the surrounding communities.”

Hani says Dream Design’s open-door policy will continue at the new location and he invites the people of the community to stop in and say hello.
